Bryant Park is Now Offering Fitness Classes on Its Ice Rink

We’re calling it now—the new fitness trend of 2017 is “Exerskating.” If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to sweat more and Netflix less, Bryant Park is here to help. (FYI: The landmark is known for its bevy of year-round and free outdoor workouts.)

Since The Rink at the Winter Village comprises a good chunk of the attraction, the park decided to use the slick stuff as a way for visitors to get their heart rate up while completing on-ice circuit workouts, which figure and hockey stars use to train. And, let’s face it, this ice-skating class certainly sounds more fun than running on a treadmill!

“Exerskating” takes place every Thursday at 8am through March 2. The park suggests arriving 20-minutes prior to the session so you can stow your belongings in a private locker ($10 fee) and rent a pair of skates ($20) Remember: This is the only free-admission ice-skating rink in NYC, so you might as well just shell out some dough and purchase a pair of your own.
